On 18 December, the 2020 Annual Meeting cum the 4th General Meeting of Hubei Environmental Protection Industry Association was held in Wuhan. The meeting aimed to convey the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, national and provincial environmental protection work and the working conference of the China Association of Environmental Protection Industry, so as to promote the orderly and healthy development of the environmental protection industry in Hubei Province; and to give recognition to the units that have made outstanding achievements in the work of fighting against epidemics in Hubei Province, helping Hubei Province to win the battle against poverty and the work of “One Belt, One Road”.

Li Ruiqin, Deputy Director of Environmental Protection Department of Hubei Province, Luo Yi, Vice President of China Association of Environmental Protection Industry (former Director of Environmental Monitoring Department of Ministry of Environmental Protection), Li Hongjie, President of Hubei Association of Environmental Protection Industry and more than 400 representatives of member units attended the meeting. As a standing councilorship and an outstanding unit of anti-epidemic work, Hubei Kimou Environmental Technology Co., Ltd. (“Hubei Kimou”) was invited to attend the meeting.

The meeting was an in-depth inspiration from “The CPC Central Committee's proposals for formulating the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035”, insisting on the core position of innovation in the overall situation of China’s modern city construction, taking technology self-reliance and self-improvement as the strategic foothold for national development; determining the major tasks of the National Ecological Environmental Protection Conference, requiring the full implementation of Xi Jinping’s thought on ecological civilization and the ideology of National Ecological Environmental Protection Conference, accelerating the modernization of the ecological environmental governance system and governance capacity, winning important victories in the battle against pollution and secure a decisive victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects with outstanding achievements in ecological environmental protection.

Deputy director Li Ruiqin said in his conclusion that he expressed his heartfelt admiration for the enterprises that rushed in the construction and operation and maintenance of the environmental protection projects of Huoshenshan and Leishenshan hospital regardless of the dangerous they faced in the process of fighting against the epidemic, and he highly praised the front-line workers for solid waste and wastewater treatment who devoted themselves in Huoshenshan and Leishenshan hospital. It is the selfless dedication of these patriotic environmental workers that contribute to the victory in the battle of environmental protection and epidemic protection in Hubei.

Since the outbreak of the epidemic, Hubei Kimou has taken up major role in the severe struggle against the epidemic with a high sense of social responsibility and a noble sense of corporate mission, actively cooperated with the local government in the joint prevention and controlling work while ensuring the safety of employees', building a solid "one prevention and three protection" strict defense line and ensuring the safe production in a smooth and orderly manner. Hubei Kimou was praised as an “outstanding unit in anti-epidemic work" and awarded a medal.

In the future, Hubei Kimou and the Central China Surface Treatment Recycling Economy Industrial Park constructed and operated by Hubei Kimou will continue to follow the national policies and guidelines, insist to focus on electroplating wastewater treatment, devote to systematic treatment of electroplating pollution, manage and serve electroplating enterprises, innovate and develop the environmental protection business of the electroplating industry, actively implement the scientific development concept of energy saving ,emission reduction and recycling economy, take the initiative to shoulder more social responsibilities, and join hands with Hubei Association of Environmental Protection Industry to make positive contributions to ecological environmental protection and local economic development in Hubei Province.
