In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the implementation of the best available technology (BAT) supported license system of pollutant discharge in key industries and to establish a BAT system to support the license system of pollutant discharge, on 17 and 18 September, a research group of five visited Huizhou Longxi Environmental Electroplating Industrial Park and carried out an on-site research on the operation conditions of the main production processes and wastewater and waste gas treatment facilities as well as the temporary storage and disposal of hazardous wastes of the electroplating enterprises, and learned the major changes in the electroplating industry construction projects, the available technologies in pollution prevention and control and the application thereof.

　　　During the research period, the research Group held a forum which was attended by leaders of the Department of Ecology and Environment of Guangdong Province, the Bureau of Ecology and Environment of Huizhou City and the Boluo County Branch, representatives of Guangdong Electroplating Association, and representatives of various electroplating parks in Guangdong including Longxi Electroplating Park in Huizhou, Yamen Electroplating Park in Jiangmen, Longwan Electroplating Park in Qingyuan and Haofeng Electroplating Park in Dongguan. The attendees discussed and proposed suggestions on the current management and operation system for environmental impact assessment, the management system for disposal of hazardous wastes by industrial parks and enterprises, the monitoring of discharge outlets of the first-category pollutants, the simplification of environmental impact assessment for candidate enterprises to enter the parks, the management of major changes in projects, and the management of registration of pollutant discharge licenses.

          The research Group successfully completed the on-site research on relevant electroplating enterprises in Huizhou City.
